Evaluation Part 6

For some reason my slideshare isn't working... so he's just a hard block of text version!

What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?

I have used a lot of technology on this project, from USB memory sticks, cameras, e-mail, Google search engine, blackboard, Microsoft word and PowerPoint. All the way up to things that I hadn’t used before this project such as blogger, slideshare, prezi, Adobe Photoshop CS3, and survey monkey.

Undoubtedly the biggest thing that I learnt, was how to properly use Photoshop, I had used other programs that were similar to Photoshop but never the actual program. The amount that I used Photoshop to actually create my magazine was much more than I had ever used. I’m particularly happy with the way that I’ve used the various editing tools and filters to edit my pictures to help them suit my designs.

Another thing that I have learnt to use over this project is the online presentation site, www.prezi.com, which I had never heard of before I started the project! It’s a whole new take on presentations, and took me a while to get my head round, thankfully I managed to get the hang of it and use it for a couple of parts of my evaluation.

Then there’s blogger, I had never used a blogging site before but it’s been pretty easy to get to grips with the site. I’ve found it a good way of organising my project and would probably use it again for any other projects.

Websites such as survey monkey and slideshare were also new to me. They were pretty easy to learn how to work them, as the websites are pretty self explanatory, so overall I’ve learnt to use a lot of technology to help improve my product, without them, I wouldn’t have a reliable survey, a place to show my work, or without Photoshop, possibly not even a magazine!
